HOW TO JOIN:: Once you have submitted your site and have your City Pubs Web Ring code on your homepage, you should receive an email from the queue with the code already inside (with your site ID, email addy and name already in place.) If the code does not work, please email me and come back here to grab the code for your webring logo. (please note, that if you come back to get the code yourself, you will have to insert your site ID, email addy, and name yourself. Also, you can only get the code from this page if you're using NETSCAPE or IE4 or above. It will NOT work with IE3.02 or previous versions. If this is the only browser you have access to, mail me and i'll send you the code by email).
THE RULES: To get into the pubs webring there are a few criteria you need to meet:
Your page MUST be in the city pubs district, of www.fortunecity.com. It doesn't necessarilty have to be about pubs or drink, anything is acceptable, as long as it's ok with the FC guidelines.
Your page DEFINATELY MUST meet the FC guidelines, e.g. display banners, and be of a suitable content. Recently i've had submissions of pages that include profanity, mp3s, links to warez, and porn, even animal porn in one case! This is just plain silly, as i'll report any of these kind of sites to the authorities, and they'll be deleted, so use your common sense! Once again: NO PORN, NO PROFANITY, NO MP3s, NO WAREZ, NO GROSS STUFF: keep it G rated to get into the pubs webring please.
NO HOMEBUILDER SITES: It's also nice if your page has a good level of content, not just one homebuilder page.... I want the pubs ring to be interesting, and for the sites to be worth browsing, otherwise nobody will bother to use it, and no-one wil get extra hits. I don't normally allow homebuilder pages, but if it shows a lot of promise i'll let it in, but if no work has been done to it after month or so, i'll remove the page, this benifits the homes in the webring that have a good level of content. If you're after more hits for your new page, then the Newbie web ring is what you're looking for.
